Repairs and Alterations

I offer repairs and alterations in the Huntingdon and St Ives area.

I do home visits or you're welcome to come to me by appointment.

Repairs available include, but are not limited to:

• zips (in skirts, trousers, tops and dresses)
• replacing buttons
• fixing ripped seams in lining or fabric
• hems
• patching and darning - decorative patching and darning available

Alterations available include, but are not limited to:

• taking in and other fit adjustments
• shortening (typically taking up hems, but other shortening methods available depending on the garment)
• style adjustments such as changing or removing sleeves, straps or style details.  Adding details for style will depend on the addition.

Quotes for bespoke garment making are also available.  I can either copy an existing garment you own or design and make entirely from scratch.

Work is charged at a rough hourly rate of £7/hour plus materials with a minimum one hour charge.
